Florence Flamingo Class

Do you love flamingos? If yes, this class is for you. Join Connie in this all day class to make a Florence Flamingo Block by Elizabeth Hartman. She will share tips on staying organized and the techniques for constructing the flamingo block to make your very own flock. Cutting tips will be discussed so plan on cutting your fabric during class.

Flamingo blocks are made using conventional patchwork techniques. No paper piecing! The flamingo's bent leg is made using a cutting guide that is included in the pattern.

Required Supplies: Florence Flamingo Pattern by Elizabeth Hartman, Fabric for the quilt (Note: a jelly roll that has 5 or 6 strips in 6 separate colors can be used for the colorful fabrics for flamingos. If selecting fabric from your stash, select 6 fabrics for each flamingo from the same color that include light, medium and dark values.), Rotary cutter, mat and rulers to be able to cut and sub-cut 2 ? inch strips, Sewing machine (contact us if you want to use one of our Janome 3160 QDC-b sewing machines), Marking pen such as Frixion pens, Pins, scissors, Best Press, Paper or template plastic, A mechanism to label cut quilt pieces (card stock labels will be available for purchase at class), Recommended Supplies: Single hole stitch plate for your sewing machine
